Integrity Assessments

It is critically important for employers to employ people with integrity to ensure that their businesses have the best human material at its disposal.

It is also important for employees to know to what extent they can be considered to have integrity.

Integrity assessments highlights honesty, dependability, fairness and independence in behaviour.

The IP200 is an instrument that measures integrity. The entire instrument was constructed to measure the individual respondent’s integrity level.

It is a comprehensive, diagnostic and developmental instrument with 200 test items that provides the user with more than 60 measuring scales – including socialisation, trustworthiness, credibility honesty in practice, discretion, loyalty, self-reliance and courage of conviction – to measure integrity. It has more than 50 measuring areas.

IP200 makes predictions about future behaviour and it measures individual integrity as well as corporate integrity as an organisational survey. It is available as a paper-and-pen or on-screen test.

The 10 areas it measures are:

  1. Socialisation
  2. Trustworthiness
  3. Credibility
  4. Work ethics
  5. Attitudes – integrity constraining
  6. Functional vs dysfunctional behaviour
  7. Manipulative abuse of power
  8. Values
  9. Transformation commitment and man integrity
  10. Monitor, lie, consistency and exaggeration

The IP200 is a comprehensive integrity measure which assesses integrity in all its facets for:

  • diagnoses, counselling and development in a work environment
  • staff decisions in a high risk environment

There is no time restriction to the completion of the test and there is always a trained ‘administrator’ available to allow participants to clear any doubts they may have regarding the meaning of words or sentences.

The IP-200 is registered with the Health Professions Council of SA.

IMI is a condensed version of IP200.

It measures

• Honesty
• Stealing/Theft
• Violation of policies, rules and regulations
• Reliability and dependability
• Lying
• Denial (Projection and Justification)
• Work Ethic
• Manipulation • Verifiable items
• Lie detector

The test is a pencil and paper test of 100 test items and it gives 10 scores. The IMI takes about 35 minutes to complete and is especially useful for screening purposes. It can be used at a grade 6 schooling level.

It is a good idea to subject job applicants to the test to save yourself a lot of effort and even legal headaches at a later stage. At the same time, it is a valuable test to give to existing staff to ascertain their potential for promotion or honesty-dependent jobs in your company.
